A friend and I did a private tour with Nghia and loved every part of the experience.
Nghia asked that Sueng (I hope the spelling is correct!) join us as she was in training and she was adorable. The trek through the H’mong tiny valley and mountain village tribes was far more moving and beautiful that words and pictures can capture.
Nghia has such a grace to her, introducing herself and us along the way. It was very enjoyable to watch how she engaged with the H’mong people. She is curious and respectful. During one such experience she saw a women sitting in her yard hand paining fabric for a piece of clothing she was making. Nghia asked if we could watch her to which she agreed. She later invited us to try, which proved very difficult for us to do as it was freehand. We were invited to stay for lunch with them which was so kind. We asked to see her other wares. She has a few pieces that she hand sews to sell at market so we were able to purchase them from her directly. Very special moments here.
We stayed at homestays with families along the way. They were wonderful and warm hosts. The accommodations were very comfortable, clean and safe. The meals our hosts served were delusions and very plentiful. I know it was a lot of effort to make our meals vegetarian, which was much appreciated!!!
Our driver Anh was awesome. He was a very safe and experienced driver…. although a very harrowing drive through the MANY switchbacks. He did slow down for us as the ride lift us very queezy. Be sure to bring Gravol and ginger candy!
We were able to experience planting rice, picking tea leaves, shooing cows and chickens from roads and rice field paths, ethic life, breathtaking landscapes and had lots of fun along the way with Nghia, Seung and Anh.
We learned a great sea from Nghia, she truly is remarkable!
Nghia, thank you so much for an experience if a lifetime. If we could give you 10 stars for your hospitality, knowledge and genuine nature we would!
Juanita and I will miss you and your infectious laugh!

“We absolutely LOVED this three day, two night trip with Nghia! We started from Hanoi and made our way up north to Mu Cang Chai. We spent the first day trekking to a tea farm up in the mountains and spent the first night at a homestay. We biked through rice fields, met locals and learned a lot about the community. We trekked up in Mu Chang Chai the second day via motorbike, walking and met locals, including our tour guide.
As a traveler here, you need to be flexible and willing to experience the trip, even when the conditions aren’t ideal. It rained some on the second day, and was very muddy, but I think that gave the day an even better memory.
Our meals were also very yummy and we were able to experience all sorts of local delights.”

Nghia and her team from Zonitrip helped to organise a 2 day trip to Mu Cang Chai tour for my two friends and I. In the lead up to the trip, I appreciated her promptness in responding to my queries. All in all, my friends and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip! During our trek around the mountains, we were awed by the many beautiful views of the Mu Cang Chai rice terraces We also enjoyed our homestay experience with the Thai People and were highly impressed by the wide spread of delicious food prepared by our homestay owners. If you are looking to visit a place that is less touristy, I highly recommend Mu Cang Chai . However, if you are prone to motion sickness, you must be warned that the journey from Hanoi to Mu Cang Chai and back can be a gruelling one as you will be traveling on winding mountainous roads for about 2 -3 hours. Thank you once again Nghia for organising such a great trip for us =)
“We initially wanted to climb Mt Fansipan but had to change at the last minute due to unforeseen circumstances. Nghia was really understanding and provided an alternative package for us — we chose Trekking Mu Cang Chai Tour instead and it’s a place that we would definitely recommend! We explored the rice terraces and visited the villages, and we were rewarded with an amazing view after one of our treks. Highly recommend!
Travelled to Mu Cang Chai, spending the first night in Ngia Lo and the second in Mu Cang Chai. Nghia was wonderful and was up to doing anything we wanted to on the way. We stopped at a fresh water stream in Tu Le where she walked us to a secluded hot spring so that we could take a dip in the middle of the day. All the meals were amazing and she gave us insight to the lives of the Tai, Hmong and Dao people that lived in Yen Bai and the surrounding areas. Her tour is one of the most genuine and down to earth tours. Highly recommended!
