Ta Xua is a mountain located in Tram Tau commune, Yen Bai province, which has an elevation of over 2.800m above the sea, in the Top 10 high mountain in Vietnam.

Ta Xua is well-known for the mysterious beauty of Mountain Peak on the Cloud sea, huge Turtle Head is out of mountain cliff and Dinosaur Backbone – with long, narrow and lumpy shape, magic forest like in the Movie “Alice in Wonderland”!

The Trekking Ta Xua trip is considered one of the moderate trek (3/5), with the high & steep slopes, through the jungle & many peaks. But the spectacular view on the top will be a worth and unforgettable memory

Itinerary

Night 01: Hanoi – Tram Tau ( no meals) ( 250km by car ~5,5hrs)

The first day, you can start from Hanoi or anywhere, based on your time and we can help you to arrange the transportation.

You can choose to transfer by public bus, sharing car or a private car. Let us know to update the price.

Day 1: Trekking camping site - Turle head Rock- Dinosour Backbone Mountain - 2nd Hut ( B, L,D)

7:30am, enjoy breakfast.

After breakfast, you will be transfer by car and motorbike to trekking starting point in Ban Cong commune, 7km far from the center – until the end of concrete road, then you will be transfer by motorbike to the starting point through the soil and muddy road.

Around 8:30am, arrive our porter house, prepare food and items to start Trekking Ta Xua. The trekking road can be quite steep, long muddy slope when beginning, after that, the road is easier.

After first 3,5km, you see the Turle head Rock.

With good health trekkers, you can conquer the challenging route on Dinosour Backbone Mountain in narrow path in the first day.

Reach the hut at the late afternoon.

Our porter will prepare meal. You have time to rest and enjoy the asmostphere in the jungle.

Trekking time: ~6hrs with ~7km

Deep, steep, slipery slope, no stream.

Day 2: Magic forest & Ta Xua Peak - come back Tram Tau (B, L,--)

~04h00: Wake up, eat breakfast and prepare for a hard trekking trip.

~5h00: Start to trek. You will trek through the moss jungle with old trees covered by grass and foggy through the year. You can spend more time here for you take a photo, video, enjoy the nature!

~After around 2.5-3hrs, reach the Ta Xua peak. Celebrate the winning and enjoy the view and forest on the peak.

~11hrs: Come back the second hut and have lunch here.

Back to cross the dinausour backbone mountain and first hut.

Around 16h-17h00: Arrive village.

You can use combine with motorbike taxi to save time and health. The cost is 250.000vnd/way/person.

Come back Tram Tau town.

You can spend more 1 night at homestay or going directly to Hanoi.

How about accommodation?

Hut/tent

With the trekking mountain tour from 2-4 days, you will sleep at a tent or hut, with sleeping bag or our blanket. You will share sleeping space with other guests. There isn’t electricity, internet or phone wireless, no hot water, no WC. But one night to merge nature and avoid modern life is an unforgettable and interesting experience.

How's about the food?

As the condition in the mountain is harder than in the city, so we just can serve simple meals but enough energy for your trekking trip. Our meals are Vietnamese food with a balance between Meat, vegetable, rice and fruit.

If you have any special request about food like vegan, vegetarian or western food, let us know before departure tour.

How do I book and pay?

All our quotes are in USD/VND. We accept Visa/MasterCard by either directly giving us your card details or using our authorized payment form, bank transfers, or cash ( USD & VND).
Once you have agreed on an itinerary or service we will ask for a 30% deposit and start making reservations for you. Once all reservations have been made we will confirm back to you. The final balance is due on your arrival in our area or before your tour departs.

What is cancellation policy?

Once you have paid 30% non-refundable deposit your trip is confirmed.
Any cancellation of a booking must be in writing and shall only be effective upon its acknowledged receipt by ZONITRIP
For cancellations made within 7 days and 48 hrs before the day of the service, we reserve the right to retain 25% of the due amount.
For cancellations made within 48 hrs of the tour, we reserve the right to retain the full fee.
No refunds are given in case of force majeure
No refunds are given if the client leaves the program after it has begun for any reasons whatsoever or miss any scheduled sightseeing or visit or no show up

Incredible Ta Xua trek with Nghia!

My brother and I did the two day one night trek up to the Ta Xua peak with Nghia (owner of the Zoni homestay and trek guide), and it was one of the best experiences we have had in Vietnam. From the moment we got to the Zoni homestay, we felt like we were at home. The property is beautiful and thoughtfully planned out, and Nghia was a very welcoming host. The trek itself was gorgeous- beautiful sea of clouds, sunrise, sunset, misty forest, and ridge-climbing all in one trip! Nghia was very attentive throughout and always made sure we were well fed (and caffeinated) to climb the mountain 🙂 A hidden gem in the countryside, I couldn’t recommend this experience more!

ITruly an experience of a lifetime

We did the two day one night trek of Ta Xua and it was a wonderful experience! Nghia was an amazing guide and very professional. The food on the trek was delicious and Nghia always made sure we were comfortable. The Zoni Homestay was lovely to stay in the night before and after the trek. The family style dinner was amazing and Nghia and her husband were very kind and sociable. Overall, an amazing experience!

Good tour package

Overall our group are very happy with the tour guide arrangement and the daily planned activities. Fansipan hiking has nice views and chill hiking paths for us to enjoy the amazing scenario of Sapa village. Our group members are satisfied with the food, accommodation and also planned tourist attractions. The tour guide is very nice and friendly and will definitely go for second in the future.
