Itinerary at a glance
As Southeast Asia’s highest peak, Mt. Fansipan (3,143 m) provides the perfect backdrop for some great trekking routes. This trek with outdoor camping offers all of the challenges and rewards of any hike. Upon reaching the summit you can be one of the few who have reached up and touched the clouds, marking the roof of Indochina.
The “Fansipan climb and Go down by Cable Car” tour of Zonitrip is a new experience to see Mt. Fansipan in another light from above. It also saves time in descent after the long trek, and it’s also unforgettable memory as well.
If you are already in Sapa, our driver and tour guide will pick you up at your hotel between 8:30 to 9:00. If you take a sleeper transport or night train from Hanoi, we can offer you breakfast at our hotel partner and wait for our guide coming.
At 9.00, start our Fansipan Climb trip, move to Tram Ton pass – the highest peak of roads on O Quy Ho Pass – one of the four greatest passes in Vietnam. From there you can see Mt. Fansipan, the highest peak of the Indochina mountains. You can enjoy the stunning views here for a moment. The trek will be relatively easy until lunchtime. Along the path, you will go through pine and bamboo forests, and trek beside cool streams. During the climb, you get a chance to explore culture of some minority groups of Black Mong, Red Dzao and Dzay – the indigenous individuals living in Sa Pa. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch.
With new energy, you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route, you have many opportunities to enjoy the magnificent views of the Sapa area and the beautiful landscape. You will have the chance to climb by ladders, by rope, through the jungle and forest, and deep stone. Breathe deeply and take in the fresh air of the natural landscape.
You will arrive at the campsite at 2800m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well-prepared dinner.
We could OFFER FREE transportation from Lao Cai station to Sapa (If you choose the train from Hanoi- Lao Cai).
Trekking: 5 hrs/ascend 2,800 m from 1,900 m
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
After having breakfast, you climb to the top, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view the mountain has to offer. You will climb from base camp 2800m to the top 3140m in around 3 hrs. This consists of going up and down via deep mountains, the bamboo forest, the jungle, and huge stone. This will take all the muscles in your body, so get ready!
On the top of Fansipan
After reaching the top, you will go down via Hoang Lien Cable car station and come back to Sapa – where you can celebrate your achievement and relax. Book the cable car on the way back sounds more reasonable because after a quite long trek to the summit and now you are a bit (or a lot) exhausted.
Once you leave the station, you’ll immediately start to float high above the rocky cliffs below. From the cabin, the huge windows, you can enjoy the beauty of Sa Pa town, stunning view and spectacular terrace fields, as you ascend gradually to this towering tip above the clouds.

“Very great Fansipan climb trip !”
Thanks, Zonitrip for this great experience! We climbed the mount Fansipan, the highest point in Vietnam. We were in Yen Bai which is 3hours from Hanoi by bus. Nghia organized everything for us, as dropped us on the Highway at midnight to catch the bus to Sapa!
We were only four in our group, and we started to hike the first day and we slept in the base camp (2800m). Good atmosphere and good people over there! The guide cooked a great meal for us and we spent good time drinking some local alcohol and beers (you can find beers in the hut but you have to bring your own alcohol 😉
The day after we started to hike around 6.30 am for 2 hours until the top of the Fansipan.
Unfortunately, it was really cloudy, like almost every day so no regrets!
We decided to go down by the cable car (600 000 dong) cause of the rain. We had time to visit Sapa and to meet some locals before to take the bus. The city is really nice even if it’s extremely touristy…
We went back to Yen Bai around 8 pm and Nghia was waiting for us with her husband to drop us at home.
That was 2 really nice days! Thank you so much for everything! I highly recommend Zonitrip!

The total trek is around 11-12 hours at a very fast pace and should only be attempted in one day by very experienced trekkers or athletes. I recently completed a half ironman triathlon (1.9k swim, 90k ride, 21k run) and found this trek to be of similar challenge. My girlfriend would be described as fit. Regular gym, ability to run 5-10km, however, she was unable to complete it within one day. I would only recommend the one day trek if you could comfortably run ~20km or are otherwise very experienced in trekking (or are indifferent to suffering).
Otherwise it is an incredibly rewarding experience albeit challenging even over 2 days and provides some incredible views (if the clouds clear!)
Definitely the highlight of the Fansipan climb trip, I just wish we were better informed so we could have chosen the 2 day trek and I could have shared the whole experience with my girlfriend.

I had a very good experience Fansipan climb mountain thanks to this company. The guide is very interpersonal, he is caring, gives u lot of free time own ur own and you feel like conquering the mountain by yourself but he waits for you at hardcore/ fork road and dangerous area, support you when needed.
Miss Nghia is very nice too, she couldn’t take me this tour but she called to check if everything OK and was always helpful.
I would recommend anyone i meet to this company.
