Explore Ha Giang loop (3 days trekking)
If you choose trekking as your method of exploring the Ha Giang loop: our tour guide will pick you up at your Hanoi hotel and take you to the bus station. Around 4:30 pm you will arrive in Ha Giang City, then move to Dao’s Homestay, have dinner and prepare for trekking Ha Giang Loop.
– Day 1: Trekking Ha Giang:
You will be in harmony with peaceful green fields with the sticky folds of kitchen smoke. You can have lunch here with the people or have a picnic on the way. On the rocky road, you will see images of many ethnic minorities such as the H’mong, Dao and Tay people. You will be able to spot the walled houses and take pictures of the activities the ethnic people or join to work in the rice fields with them. At the end of your first trekking day, you will be relaxed, resting and enjoying the ethnic cuisine of the Dao people.
– Day 2: Trekking – Dong Van:
After breakfast, we continue the journey to conquer the Ha Giang loop. You will go through the road from Quan Ba to Dong Van. You will be fascinated by majestic natural scenery. A series of a long passes and deep valleys appear before your eyes. Then, you will cross the pine forest and visit the “Palace of the Hmong people”. This palace is dedicated to the king of the H’Mong people. It looks serene in a tranquil setting on the high border. You will take a lunch break there before trekking on the highest mountain of Dong Van. You will of course have the opportunity to view the natural landscape here. You can also visit the villages of the H’Mong, Lo Lo, and Giay in the wild border area. At the end of the day, we return to Dong Van for dinner at a hotel or Homestay.
– Day 3: Dong Van Trekking – Meo Vac
The last day of the Ha Giang trekking loop will be even more exciting. You will feel very proud to climb 15km to the top of Mt. Pi Leng. You will walk through a huge maze of limestone peaks, rock forests, Hmong rural villages in the valley before descending to Meo Vac. During the rest of the day, you will have time to visit a traditional village of the H’mong and learn about the process of creating clothes from hemp trees. When these activities conclude, we will return to Ha Giang and prepare to catch the bus to Ha Noi.
Ha Giang motorbike loop:
If you are strong and passionate, you may want to conquer the Ha Giang loop by a motorbike. It is the greatest opportunity for you to experience the nature and majestic scenes. We recommend that you can move from Ha Noi to Ha Giang by night bus, and the next morning you rent a motorbike to explore the Ha Giang loop.
– Day 1: Ha Giang – Yen Minh – Dong Van
On the road leading to Yen Minh, you will experience stunning scenes on the bike. Both sides of your view consist of soaring hills. You will cross the limestone mountains and rivers along the side of the road. You just ride the motorbike and enjoy everything on this road. Follow this path and enjoy the scenery, stopping for pictures whenever you can. However, you will want to manage this part of the trip somewhat fast so that you can reach the “Sky Gate”. Past this trail, you will see a plateau appear in front of the sky. This is where you’ll want to make sure your camera is charged. In the town of Tam Son you can rest, in order to prepare for the next days journey.
– Day 2: Dong Van – Meo Vac:
You will be fascinated by the 22km stretch along the Ma Pi Leng pass. A sense of adventure will stir inside you as you cross the road with cliffs on one side and the Nho Que river on the other. Following this, you will descend Meo Vac, where the valley is quiet during the day and bustling at night. You should stay here at night to get into the atmosphere of the night market.
– Day 3: Meo Vac – Du Gia – Ha Giang
This is the last step for you to complete your journey on the loop of Ha Giang. From Meo Vac, you will visit the small village of Du Gia – the winding pass, run up hill with foggy and jungle beside your road –it’s continue challenge your driving skill. Once you leave this village, you will continue the journey returning to Ha Giang. You finish your journey in Ha Giang, have dinner and then catch the bus back to Hanoi.
