Itinerary

Sapa town- Fansipan Top - Cable car station- Sapa

6:30-7h00am:  We will pick you at your hotel early in the morning. Check your equipments and baggage carefully before the trip.

We are then transferred by car 15km from Sapa, to arrive at the Fansipan Park Ranger’s Station at a height of 1.900m, ready to begin the trek.

The mountain’s ecosystem is rich, with 2,024 floral varieties and 327 faunal species. The challenging ascent will take around 5-6 hours.

Throughout, we hike through stunning primary deciduous and evergreen forests, follow crystal clear mountain streams, and brave windswept ridges. Short breaks along the way will allow you to take in the various scenic views that this climb has to offer. Forest types change with increasing altitude. You will use more power, using both hands and legs to go up and down through the rock cliff, climbing the ladder and go through the jungle. You can see many stunning views when reaching any peak then merge between the natural forest and animals.

Around 13-14:00:  You will conquer the top of Fansipan, where you can celebrate your victory. From there, you can enjoy the best view to beautiful sceneries. Stop for lunch in 40 minutes, then take some pictures for an unforgettable experience and your proud of victory at the top.  In the lucky day and the sky is clear, you can see the amazing sunrise with a fantastic view from the top of Fansipan.

After taking in the scenery and atmosphere on Vietnam’s highest point, descend and take the cable car on the way back sounds more reasonable because after a quite long trek to the summit and now you are a bit (or a lot) exhausted.

Once you leave the station, you’ll immediately start to float high above the rocky cliffs below. From the cabin, the huge windows, you can enjoy the beauty of Sa Pa town, stunning view and spectacular terrace fields, as you ascend gradually to this towering tip above the clouds.

Sum up:

Time trekking up 5-6hrs

Time descend by cable car: 30-60min

Altitude: 1.900m-3.140m

P/s: If you want to save cost and you are an experienced trekker, we can arrange a full trekking day without cable car, you should start from 5:30-6am. Let send your inquiry for us.

Wonderful experience!
We did a one day hike with the option to trek both ways.

We ended up doing the trek up and the cable car down. Overall that was a good decision because it wasn’t an easy trek, but it’s great that Fansipan offers the flexibility either way.

Along the way, the views were amazing and the difficulty level was moderate-high. It took us about 6.5 hrs to summit. Fitter hikers will be able to complete this without much difficulty.

1 day hike to fansipan summit!
It was an amazing day to remember and a great accomplishment for me.

The start of the hike to the first base camp or you can call it shelter, difficulty level i won’t say that tough for a normal fitness level like me that dosen’t do any gym training or weight lifting for the hike but i do walk alot. The 1st base camp to 2nd base comes where there’s continues stairs climbing, rocky terrain, some slippery rocks, platform crossing and ladders to look out for. Then from 2nd base came to the summit was relatively climbing up steps and some obstacles. The total time i took to climb to the summit is 6hr 40min and so far this is my toughest hike as this is first mountain hiking hobby.

I did stop a lot of places just to take pictures of the awesome mountain views and enjoy the wind blowing on my face and i just do not have words to describe how beautiful it is..

Advice to future climbers to fansipan summit:
– Have sufficient water (1.5L minimum)
– Have food to eat or snacks.
– Bring Energy gel/bar/drink for on the go hike.
– Try wearing proper hiking shoe or better grip shoes.
– You don’t need thick clothing. (But have a windbreaker jacket or thermal wear as you get higher, strong cold wind will blow at you).
– Do not litter! This fanispan is considered clean to me just be environmental friendly as there are animals leaving there.

Lastly enjoy how beautiful the mountain are there, i bet you will be amazed!!
