Itinerary

Day 1Sapa – Tram Ton Pass – Base camp 2800m (-, L, D)

Around 8:00 – 8:30 am, our guide and driver with local coordinator pick you up at your hotel in Sapa. You will be transferred by car to Tram Ton pass, the starting point for hiking. The journey from here to the first camp is nice. The forest and small rivers running at the side of the mountain are refreshing.
Around 12h00: You will have a break at the first camp and enjoy a good lunch.
With new energy, you start a new windy journey. The track is more open and uphill. You will use more power, using both hands and legs to go up and down through the rock cliff, climbing the ladder and go through the jungle. You can see many stunning views when reach any peak then merge between the natural forest and animals.
~16-17h00: Arrive at the campsite at 2800m in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well-prepared dinner.

We could OFFER FREE transportation from Lao Cai station to Sapa (If you choose the train from Hanoi- Lao Cai).

Sum up:
Trekking time: 6hrs
Altitude: from 1.900m-2.800m

Day 2Base camp – the top of Fansipan – Cable car– Sapa (B, L, -)

If you want to see the sunrise, you have to wake up and start from 3:30-4.00 am and reach the top at 6:30 am. You will experience pitch black trail and can’t see well around you, so you have to use your light because it’s very dark in the early morning. The ladder and steps will help your ascent easier. In the lucky day and the sky is clear, you can see the amazing sunrise with a fantastic view from the top of Fansipan. It’s also the time with fewer tourists from the cable car stations, so you can enjoy the scenery and take a break before descending.

Book the cable car on the way back sounds more reasonable because after a quite long trek to the summit and now you are a bit (or a lot) exhausted.

Once you leave the station, you’ll immediately start to float high above the rocky cliffs below. From the cabin, the huge windows, you can enjoy the beauty of Sa Pa town, stunning view and spectacular terrace fields, as you ascend gradually to this towering tip above the clouds.

If you want to drop-off at your hotel or transfer to the bus or train station, please let us know in order to arrange ahead of time.

Sum up:

Hiking time: 2,5-3hrs

Altitude: 2800m->3140m

How about accommodation?

After a long day with a lot of activities, we know a comfortable place to rest overnight is a special concern. A relaxed and enjoyable accommodation is not only to state the quality of the tour but also to get the energy back for the possibly hard days after.

However, with the Mountain Trekking tour, the accommodation is very basic because it is difficult to built and bring anything to the mountain. In addition, we also don’t want to attach nature, so keep everything is simple is a good way to protect the environment and develop suitable tourism.

The base camp – Hut/tent

With the trekking mountain tour from 2-4 days, we provide a tent or hut and sleeping bag to sleep. You will share sleeping space with other guests.

There isn’t electricity, internet or phone wireless, no hot water, no shower, and a very simple toilet.

How's about the food?

The guide and porters will prepare food for you. You will have:

+ 2 lunches: Light meals.

With Westerner: Bread, cheese, eggs, salad, bananas, etc

With Asian: Rice, meat, vegetable, egg. etc

I started my journey with my friends in a group of five people with a saying repeated in my mind that “Get lost in nature and you will find yourself”. Well, it was our very first and adventurous trip ever with two days of hiking in Fansipan and one day in Sapa. We all miss our steps through the mountain with a lot of amazing views and little things along the ways, especially two helpful and friendly posters of Zonitrip. They are Seng and Cau. Thanks to their support, our journey has become memorable. I always remember the image of two posters with two heavy dossiers on their backs to bring things to support us. They are two people who talked with us as our friends, always supervised us but not forgot to let us enjoy ourselves sometimes… Finally, thank you Zonitrip for all and special thanks to Mrs. Nghia – she is so caring and helpful. Thank you for “getting lost” with us!

Very great Fansipan climb trip !”
Thanks, Zonitrip for this great experience! We climbed the mount Fansipan, the highest point in Vietnam. We were in Yen Bai which is 3hours from Hanoi by bus. Nghia organized everything for us, as dropped us on the Highway at midnight to catch the bus to Sapa!
We were only four in our group, and we started to hike the first day and we slept in the base camp (2800m). Good atmosphere and good people over there! The guide cooked a great meal for us and we spent good time drinking some local alcohol and beers (you can find beers in the hut but you have to bring your own alcohol ????
The day after we started to hike around 6.30 am for 2 hours until the top of the Fansipan.
Unfortunately, it was really cloudy, like almost every day so no regrets!
We decided to go down by the cable car (600 000 dong) cause of the rain. We had time to visit Sapa and to meet some locals before to take the bus. The city is really nice even if it’s extremely touristy…
Then, we went back to Yen Bai around 8 pm and Nghia was waiting for us with her husband to drop us at home.
That was 2 really nice days! Thank you so much for everything! I highly recommend Zonitrip

December Hike – Fantastic View
This is the highest mountain in Indochina. We opted to hike this mountain to enjoy the trail view. We booked our tour with Asia Tour Advisor / Trekking Sapa 2 days 1 night.

Our guide and local coordinator picked us up at our hotel in Sapa. We were brought to Tram Ton Pass and start our hiking. The journey from here to the first camp was nice. The sparse forest and small rivers running at the side of the mountain is refreshing. We had our lunch of bread, butter and jam spread, banana, carrots, and other vegetables.

From the first camp to the second camp the journey was a windy one. The track is more open and uphill. In December the temperature was cold 0 – 10 deg and with the wind made it so much colder.

It took us about 6km to reach the second camp from Tram Ton Pass. There, we had our dinner and slept at the shared bungalow. The bungalow has several rooms. Depending on your package, you will be given a private room or a shared one. The bungalow has wooden flooring for guests to sleep on and your body will get cold very fast. Make sure you have a good sleeping bag and INSULATION MAT. The toilet is not so clean. No bidet or tissue provided.

The next morning, we started our breakfast at 4 am and began summit attack 30 minutes after that. After 4km hiking in the dark around the mountain edges, you will arrive at the Cable Car station. From there you will have to take on the many staircases toward the summit.

Rest assured that if the clouds are not thick, the view will be spectacular. You can see a cloud carpet around the mountain. That alone is worth all the challenges you faced when hiking this mountain.

Tips:
1) Good windbreaker and fleece.
2) Good hand gloves.
3) Make sure your guide has a good sleeping bag and a thermal mat.
4) Bring candle/lamp because of no electricity at the shared bungalow.
5) Bring nuts/power bar
6) A good hiking shoe because you will need a proper grip when hiking at the edges of the mountain.
7) Bring cash/card if you plan to go down by the cable car. 700k dong.

We don’t recommend you to come here in December because there were more cloudy days when we were here than the clear ones – we were lucky our summit day was okay. A day before and after the summit day the whole Sapa Valley was immersed in clouds. It will be better to come here during summertime where there are fewer clouds.

The total trek is around 11-12 hours at a very fast pace and should only be attempted in one day by very experienced trekkers or athletes. I recently completed a half ironman triathlon (1.9k swim, 90k ride, 21k run) and found this trek to be of similar challenge. My girlfriend would be described as fit. Regular gym, ability to run 5-10km, however, she was unable to complete it within one day. I would only recommend the one day trek if you could comfortably run ~20km or are otherwise very experienced in trekking (or are indifferent to suffering).

Other wise it is an incredibly rewarding experience albeit challenging even over 2 days and provides some incredible views (if the clouds clear!)

Definitely the highlight of the Fansipan climb trip, I just wish we were better informed so we could have chosen the 2 days trek and I could have shared the whole experience with my girlfriend.

Overall, we are quite satisfies with the service provided by Zonitrip.
We had climbed Mount Fansipan, they are helpful guide and porter.
Besides, Zonitrip had arranged a Sapa guide which can speak very fluent English.
We like the beautiful scenery of Sapa paddy field.
Thank you that Zonitrip always keep in touch with us to ensure we are always in SAFE condition.
