“Exactly what I wanted!”
Zonitrip offers tailored services and I was really happy with the tour because it enabled me to see parts that are far away from the beaten track. I went on a weekend trip to Da Bac with lovely people from Vietnam and abroad and we were able to experience the local culture, traditions and cuisine as well as go on many crazy adventures such as bamboo rafting and swimming. The region is absolutely beautiful and very peaceful and it was a great way to escape busy Hanoi. If you are looking for an amazing trip that can be adjusted to your needs and also at a very reasonable price dont hesitate to contact Zonitrip
Traveling with Ngia and her friends to Da Bac, in Hoa Binh province is the best decision you can make when you are in Hanoi. It has nothing in common with the cookie cutter tours from the dozens of travel agencies that have jumped on the loosely defined eco-tourism brand. To start with, because Ngia was joined by her friends on the tour, I felt as though I was on a road trip with some good friends who already knew each other, and no awkward dynamics. And they were super friendly and were totally enjoying life, so you quickly get smitten with the positive vibe of the crew, and flow with the euphoric flow.
Second, and this is something Ngia probably undersold in her description of the tour, the food we had in Da Bac was amazing! The family that runs the inn went to great lengths to bring us freshly caught fish, local produce, and present it in beautiful decoration. They shared with us their locally brewed honey wine and liquors. They even gave me a bottle to take away.
There was a performance of a local dance, which to be honest, when I heard about, gave me some reservations, expecting that the family is going to be begrudgingly putting on local costumes and sing songs they would normally not sing, just because that’s what the tourists expect and want. But even before the performance, I realized quickly that this was going to be different. They had so much fun dressing up, and fooling around, putting on makeup, and to mingle with other folks in the community they normally wouldn’t have a chance to. A lot of dynamics were taking place in the performance, the most salient of which for me was that it was a chance for men to drink freely with their friends, for women to dress-up and sing and be admired, and for the grand-parents to watch from the near distance and laugh and laugh at the foolishness of everyone.
Well, there is so much to praise about Ngia’s trip, but I will let you discover it for yourself.
It’ll be the best decision you’ll make in seeing the real Viet Nam.
